Here are two short pieces. “Lindsay Plays Dead” was originally published in Tiny-Lights, a Journal of Personal Narrative. It describes the relationship between my older sister and me. Sisters Lolly and Meg, loosely based on various memories I have from childhood, appear in several of my early reader short stories — I actually wrote “Lolly Plays a Trick” first, then thought “Why don’t I write what really happened?”
Explore the Wonder!
The main purpose of this blog is to explore the wonder of writing. I'm hoping kids of all ages (well, from 8 years old or so on up) will read it and try out some of my challenges. I'm having fun with it so far! -- Mathilda Wheeler, WW-
